Dining Planner: Florida Blueberry Festival, Seafood and Sweets, Taste of Ybor

BERRY GOOD: FESTIVAL TIME

Blueberry season is in full swing, with this year's Florida Blueberry Festival making it official. First, there's the festival kick-off event on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Saxon Manor. The Victorian Epicurean Tasting benefits the Brooksville Vision Foundation and offers tastings, hors d'oeuvres and a souvenir glass. $50. 103 S Saxon Ave., Brooksville. (352) 540-6409. Then on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival on Main Street in downtown Brooksville includes music and street entertainment, a wine bar, food and a market featuring Florida-grown blueberries and other produce, blueberry kids zone, beer garden and a thousand-foot-long slip and slide. $10, $5 ages 13-17, free for 12 and younger (slip and slide tickets separate). STILL HUNGRY? MORE FUN

On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., put the pedal to the metal at the Seafood and Sweets food truck rally at the Port of St. Petersburg. It's an evening of food truck dining that also has waterfront and indoor air-conditioned seating with live music. Free (food/drink additional). 250 Eighth Ave. SE. (727) 892-5715.

.Also in St. Petersburg, the Veg Out! 2017 and Bloody Mary Competition in Williams Park pays tribute to Earth Day on Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., browse the health-conscious vendors, get tips on how to keep the planet healthy, with fitness demos, while you taste the contenders in the Bloody Mary competition. Free admission to Veg Out, food and drink prices vary; Bloody Mary competition $25 advance, $30 at door. Fourth Street and First Avenue N. (813) 442-9911.

Head to Ybor City for the Taste of Ybor on Saturday, in which 10 restaurants set up a Tapas Trail from 3 to 6 p.m. Tiny nibbles not enough? Then there's the after-party from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ybor City Jazz House (think live music, cocktails, dessert and cigars). $25 advance, $30 day of. E Seventh Avenue and N 14th Street, Tampa. The Safety Harbor Beer and Burger Throwdown brings beers paired with burgers and tastes from local restaurants noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. $5, 11 and younger free. Safety Harbor City Marina, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane. (727) 674-1464.
